After the failure of the Russian army in the battle for Kyiv, the concept of at least some kind of victory arose in the Kremlin. For Russian President Vladimir Putin, Severodnetsk or Slavyansk became the ultimate dream.

Russian journalist Andrey Piontkovsky told this.

According to him, if the offensive operation did not produce a result in a maximum of four days, then it can be considered a failure.

“They say if the planning of the offensive did not lead to any result in two or three maximum four days, which means the offensive forces cannot complete the task. The last days are running out, and everything turns into such a “butting,” the journalist noted.

He noted that after the failure of the Russian army in the battle for Kyiv, the Kremlin set a goal to take Kharkiv, and now the ultimate dream is Severodnetsk or Slavyansk.

"It is clear that Kyiv was not taken when this concept arose, then let's create the illusion of victory and sell it by May 9. Then in expert circles they said that they would take Kharkiv, but now this is simply unthinkable. Now the ultimate dream is Severodnetsk, Slavyansk. "But it doesn't look like it either. It feels like a second military disaster after the failure of the Kiev battle. The failure of the Donetsk battle can be announced in a couple of days," Piontkovsky summed up.
