Performances will take place in the summer of 2023 in Philadelphia, New York, Chicago, Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Seattle, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.
Ukrainian singer and songwriter, winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2016, Jamala announce her first big tour in the US and Canada. The new programme will consist of songs from different periods, which will be presented in a special electronic interpretation. Actually, the tour's name - Like A Bird - is a reference to the track of the same name from the album All Or Nothing.
A special role in the programme will be played by the new album "Poklyk", recorded during the artist's forced separation from home. The mini-album is full of references to native culture and at the same time warm feelings for home.
With the beginning of the full-scale Russian Federation invasion, Jamala became her people's voice, taking part in dozens of charity events supporting Ukraine. During 2022, she visited more than 20 countries with performances. In May of this year, she received the US Atlantic Council's Outstanding Artist Leadership Award for fighting and defending Ukrainian culture and identity during the Russian invasion. And in December of the same year, the singer performed at The Kennedy Center Honors, which is awarded annually to prominent figures in American culture.
"Art has a super-powerful power, and every day I am more and more convinced of this. Every performance, and every initiative is a small step towards our great victory. My mission as a representative of Ukrainian culture remains unchanged - to tirelessly remind me of my home, where the war has come. And performing in the US and Canada is another opportunity to speak loudly about it," said Jamala.
