There are no influential supporters of the idea of "saving face to Putin" left in the world. However, there is still a marginal group of supporters of "saving the face of Russia."

This was stated by Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba in an interview with RBC-Ukraine. He stressed that the partners of Ukraine must understand that the essence of Russia will not change regardless of its power.

“The only thing left is the “preserving the face of Russia” sect. But they already understood everything about Putin. This is a marginal sect, but it still exists through the prism of “we don’t care to live with them,” “they won’t disappear anywhere,” and the like. For me, the main thing now is not so much to overcome this sect, but to establish in partners the understanding that no matter what the power in Russia is, Russia in its essence will not change," Kuleba said.

The head of the Foreign Ministry believes it is important to overcome the narrative that Russia can be made into a liberal, democratic country. He stressed that "Russia is the way it is," and others should understand this.

"Our task is not to turn an orc into an elf, but to put out this aggression. And to create conditions under which the expansion of Russia will become impossible. That is, from an aggressively authoritarian country, it should become just an authoritarian, conservative country. They must be pushed into their borders and lock them up. Let them live in their autarky with their tsar-father, but don't attack anyone," Kuleba said.
