Ukraine's largest telecommunications operator, "Kyivstar," and the leading cloud services provider, Amazon Web Services (AWS), have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.

The press service of the operator announced the commencement of cooperation between "Kyivstar" and Amazon Web Services.

"As you know, we have been collaborating with many international companies for several years. Thanks to this, we are developing Ukrainian technologies, helping Ukrainian businesses leverage innovative developments and services to remain competitive globally," the company stated in a Facebook post.

Within the framework of the Memorandum, discussions will cover a range of initiatives, including the transition of the "Kyivstar" data management platform to AWS. This move aims to accumulate best practices for development in Ukraine. Additionally, a specialized team will be created to work with AWS technology, focusing on data processing and cybersecurity.

Currently, it is known that "Kyivstar" will implement best practices in cloud technologies, providing customers with an even broader portfolio of services. This includes cloud analytics from AWS, infrastructure migration to the cloud, and ensuring data security and protection against cyber threats in AWS. Soon, the company will transfer its data management platform to AWS, allowing them to develop unique expertise and offer a full AWS service to their clients.

"The collaboration with AWS confirms 'Kyivstar's' long-standing principle – to be a technological and innovative leader in the Ukrainian market. This is an important step for the development of Ukrainian business and its integration into the international context," said the company's president, Alexander Komarov.

As noted by the CEO of VEON, Kaan Terzioglu, this collaboration demonstrates Ukraine's attractiveness for international business despite the full-scale invasion by the Russian Federation.

"AWS and Amazon support Ukraine by assisting more than 350 organizations involved in humanitarian aid and protecting the digital infrastructure of Ukrainian government agencies, universities, and businesses. We are pleased to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation with Kyivstar and look forward to supporting digital transformation and the strategic transition to cloud technologies," commented Andzej Gorawa, Head of Enterprise Business in Central and Eastern Europe at AWS, on the signing of the Memorandum.
