During the Ramstein-19 meeting, the issue of supplying F-16 fighters to Ukraine was discussed. The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, expressed his hope to see them in the sky in spring. He made this statement in a comment to ICTV.
It is noted that the final stage is currently underway regarding the transfer of F-16 aircraft to Ukrainian pilots.
"Yes, the issue with F-16 has been resolved. I think everyone knows. There were details, but they relate to technical matters, transfer, readiness to accept, infrastructure, readiness for servicing these aircraft, training of flight and aerodrome personnel. These are purely technical issues. But the issue is resolved," Budanov said.
In addition, he expressed hope to see the fighters in the sky over Ukraine already in the spring of 2024:
"Wait. It's coming soon. This is the final stage. You know that our pilots are finishing their training, so everyone can calculate. It's not that difficult. I hope we'll see them in the spring."
