At the present time, there are no threats to a breakthrough of the Russian Federation from Belarus.
The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Kyrylol Budanov, suggests that in the event of the loss of occupied Kherson, Russia may attempt a breakthrough from Belarus.
He spoke about this in an interview with The Drive.
âThe situation can change very quickly when Russia loses Kherson. This combat-ready grouping in Kherson, after leaving Kherson, will be partially redeployed to the Zaporizhzhia direction, but some of them may move north to Belarus and pose a threat there. Therefore, we must be careful. this," Budanov said.
He stressed that at the current stage there is no threat of an invasion from Belarus.
âIf we talk about Russian military activity in Belarus, now the presence of the Russian military in Belarus is not so large. There is only about 4,300 military personnel. This grouping is very limited in heavy weapons systems, and the majority â about 80% of the grouping â are mobilized personnel. Therefore, Summing up the above, I can say that at the current stage, there is no threat of an invasion from Belarus," he said.
- Mikhail Podolyak, the adviser to the head of the President's Office, stressed that Belarus had long crossed the "red lines" and noted that after the victory over Russia, there would be a separate conversation with the Belarusian authorities.
