The organizers of the knitwear donation campaign, the “Mēs – Iecavai” association, has calculated that the weight is equivalent to 51,000 pairs of socks.

The donated knits are delivered to Ukrainian soldiers, residents and war refugees by the Society Tavi draugi (Your Friends).

Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the second campaign "Knit for Ukrainian Support" started in September 2022 and continued until the end of the year, calling for the donation of the various types and sizes of knitwear needed for both Ukrainian soldiers on the front and peaceful residents in ruined towns and other populated areas and war refugees.

The knits were accepted free of charge in all Latvian postal departments and delivered to the association Tavi draugi in RÄ«ga, Ventspils Street 50, from where they were transported onwards to Ukraine.
