In Russia, mobilization has never stopped, and in 2024, at least 427,000 soldiers were recruited under contract into the Russian army.
This was stated in an interview with Ukrinform by the First Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk.
"In 2024, at least 427,000 soldiers were recruited into the Russian army under contract. This means that every month, the Russian army was replenished by about 36,000 soldiers. And in the last quarter of 2024 and January 2025, the aggressor lost more than 40,000 soldiers every month on the battlefield in Ukraine. So, the Russian army is at a deficit, not including mercenaries or soldiers from North Korea," Havryliuk reported.
At the same time, he noted that Russia still has a huge mobilization resource within the country. Currently, many Russians are joining the army, and it doesn't matter whether the financial incentive or propaganda works more effectively.
Havryliuk also emphasized that the Russian Federation has switched to military rails, mobilized its entire economy, and created a framework for informing and brainwashing its population, and this framework is currently very effective.
