On Thursday, July 14, when France celebrated the national holiday of Bastille Day, the Ukrainian poetess of the sixties, Shevchenko Prize winner and honorary professor of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy Lina Kostenko, received the Order of the Legion of Honor. The award ceremony took place at the French embassy in Kyiv.

This was announced on the social network by the mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, who attended the ceremony.

For me, Lina Vasilievna is the personification of the spirit and dignity of the Ukrainian people. A man who never broke down under times and circumstances did not change his principles. Her work inspired and inspires Ukrainians to fight for freedom and never give up. It is very important!
