NINA EBA is the solo project of Ukrainian producer, DJ, and singer Alina Volkova. Her debut EP, MORPHO, is inspired by the theme of metamorphosis, with singles dedicated to fleeing from war, social isolation, and the "cyclical nature of existence."
MORPHO features six tracks where the producer blends elements of R&B, art-pop, breakbeat, and bass.
"The debut mini-album NINA EBA is inspired by the metamorphosis of the blue morpho butterfly. It represents a cathartic and evolutionary journey towards self-acceptance and staying true to oneself," the album description reads. The tracks were mixed by electronic musician Native Outsider, with the cover designed by Ruslan Holovko and artist Patya.
Alina Volkova, an electronic musician, producer, songwriter, and singer, has been involved in music since childhood and has been DJing for five years, during which she became fascinated by experimental and non-conformist dance music. Her work is influenced by FKA twigs, Sega Bodega, and Sevdaliza. In her solo project NINA EBA, Alina merges alternative R&B with art-pop, breakbeat, hyperpop, and other experimental genres.
Alina’s achievements include collaborating with the New Zealand label The Big Fresh Collective on the mini-album Ukraine Immortal, a hybrid set at HÖR Berlin in June 2024, and performances on Rinse France and Radio Rudina. Additionally, Volkova is the founder of the podcast Air Raid Siren, which documented the Russian invasion of Ukraine and was featured on global radio stations such as NTS Radio, RBL Berlin, Voices Radio, and Hong Kong Community Radio.
Since early 2023, Alina Volkova has been living and working in Graz, Austria.
