Lithuanian Army analysts recorded 325 cases of hostile information targeting Lithuania from Russia and Belarus in November, nearly half of which were related to military topics.
According to Delfi, Russian and Belarusian information channels focused mainly on Kaliningrad transit and the Lithuania-Belarus border issue, the country’s military said.
Lithuanian analysts noted that Russia actively raised the Kaliningrad transit issue in response to potential transit restrictions being discussed in Lithuania. Russian officials claimed that any restrictions would violate bilateral agreements between Russia and Lithuania, as well as EU-Russia agreements, allowing Russia to “legally respond according to military doctrine.”
Meanwhile, the Minsk regime continually accused Lithuania of artificially creating tension and preparing incidents at the border.
“Alexander Lukashenko and other regime representatives repeatedly conveyed that Lithuania unjustifiably accuses Minsk of creating threats, while Belarus seeks dialogue and ‘friendly’ care for drivers stuck at the border,” experts emphasized.
According to them, the Belarusian information environment aimed to exploit the Kaliningrad transit issue and portray Lithuania as a hostile state responsible for militarizing the region and escalating tensions.
