Self-proclaimed Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko expressed the assumption that the conflict in the Middle East will divert the world's attention from Russian aggression in Ukraine. He made this statement during a meeting with representatives of the labor collective and construction workers of the Belarusian NPP, as well as social infrastructure workers and residents of Ostrovets, as reported by BelTA.

"Ukraine will still be ours. Nobody needs this Ukraine. With all the turmoil in the Middle East... I warned, when the war started, I called Zelensky and said, 'Listen to me, an experienced person who has been working for many years. As soon as some turmoil arises, they will forget about you.' And what's happening? Ukraine is moving into the background," Lukashenko said.

According to him, the United States will abandon Ukraine just as they did with Afghanistan.

"That's why this region (Ukraine) is our region. In the sense that we will be together," the Belarusian dictator stated.

In his opinion, sooner or later, "Europe will crawl to us, to Russia."

"Because Americans are tearing Europe apart as they please today. It can't resist because everything in Europe is tied to the American market – loans, property, and so on," the President said.

In addition, the behavior of politicians there often goes against the interests of the people and the countries.

"You can see what politicians are like there. I look at them as an experienced person, and sometimes I want to cry," the head of state noted. "They don't think about the people. They serve their term, two terms, they go, steal something, put it in their pocket, and go somewhere. They say Zelensky is preparing to run away."
