Meta uncovered and blocked a coordinated influence operation originating from Belarus, targeting a Polish audience. This was reported in the company’s threat report for hostile organizations covering Q2 and Q3 2025. Internal investigation concluded that it was an organized foreign influence campaign linked to Belarus and Russia, as reported by Reform.
For violating rules against coordinated inauthentic behavior, Meta removed four Facebook accounts, 12 Facebook pages, and 21 Instagram accounts. Around 200 accounts followed one or more of the removed Facebook pages, and approximately 3,300 accounts followed the deleted Instagram profiles. Operators spent about $1,800 on Facebook and Instagram ads to promote content and expand reach.
The operation focused primarily on Poland’s migration policies, as well as its relations with the European Union and Ukraine.
According to Meta, the operators deliberately spread messages on these topics using sophisticated impersonation techniques. Fake accounts ran targeted ads posing as representatives of Poland’s ruling Civic Coalition, promoting content designed to provoke debate and irritate opposition audiences.
The network was also used to disseminate materials from a targeted campaign involving hacking and information leaks against a Polish Member of the European Parliament.
