Political consultant and writer Mikhail Sheitelman believe that Russian President Vladimir Putin's speech to the Federal Assembly was addressed primarily to his supporters, who already support him.
"I have discovered the main secret of this speech. No one has discovered it, and I am the first and only one who understood what it was about. Each speech has its target audience, and the target audience of this Putin speech was his supporters. That is, he turned to those who already supported him. And this is periodically necessary. We know this from any political technologies that you need to keep your audience on some "slow fire" all the time," the expert explained on the air of the FREEDOM TV .
According to the political scientist, the Russian dictator needed to explain to this audience that she was his.
âLetâs take it into two parts. Firstly, these are the people who were sitting in the hall, these are his very accomplices. They needed to hear that Putin was in place. That he would tell them the truth is not important at all, the words themselves are not important," he continued.
Sheitelman recalled that during his speech, Putin continued to assert that everything was fine with the economy in Russia, and the situation in the country is also standard. At the same time, according to the expert, the Russian dictator said between the lines that the war would never end.
"He did not say these words, but, in fact, he said this. Remember what he said about the war: "Now those who fight at the front will receive 14 days' leave every six months." You see, every six months, which means that there will be many more six months ahead. He further said that we will have to push Ukraine even further when Ukraine receives long-range weapons. That is, it is supposedly implied that this war will not end, it will simply move the front line back and forth, according to Putin," Sheitelman explained his point of view.
At the same time, in his speech, the President of the Russian Federation did not say that the war would end in victory for Russia. He noted that "the Sea of ââAzov is now the inland sea of ââRussia, and there is a land corridor to the Crimea."
âThat is, he indicated that these are the conquests. Here, by the way, he will have to answer. That is, as soon as our troops liberate Melitopol, Berdyansk, he will have to answer for this,â the expert emphasized.
The political scientist also commented on Putin's statement about withdrawing the Russian Federation from the international nuclear weapons treaty. The expert believes that it is even beneficial for Ukraine and its partners.
"While the United States and Russia were within this agreement, neither side could improve its nuclear weapons. But today, the United States, of course, will improve its missiles and develop its nuclear potential in general, and they will have an advantage," the political scientist emphasized.
