During his working visit to Washington, D.C., Minister of Finance of Ukraine Sergii Marchenko met with EU Commissioner for Economy Paolo Gentiloni.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister of Finance for European Integration Yuriy Draganchuk, Deputy Minister of Finance Olga Zykova and Government Commissioner for Public Debt Management Yuriy Butsa.
The parties discussed the current state of the Ukrainian economy as well as Ukraine’s integration into the European Union.
“European integration is one of the most important priorities of the Government of Ukraine. I am grateful to my colleagues from the EU for the cooperation and support of our country in this way,†said Sergii Marchenko.
The Minister of Finance and the EU Commissioner noted the achievements in the cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union in the areas of customs and fiscal policies.
In September 2022, Minister of Finance of Ukraine Sergii Marchenko and EU Commissioner for Economy Paolo Gentiloni, within the framework of the 8th plenary session of the EU-Ukraine Association Council, signed the Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union on Ukraine’s participation in the European Union’s Customs cooperation program and Fiscalis program for cooperation in the field of taxation.
