Statues of members of the legendary Beatles group Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, and John Lennon were dressed in Ukrainian vyshyvankas. According to the BBC, the local authorities did this in preparation for the Eurovision Song Contest 2023, which will be held in May in Liverpool on behalf of Ukraine.

It is known that six Easter eggs (pysanky) were installed on the streets of the city, each of which depicts the flags of the countries participating in the 67th song contest.

In 2022, the Ukrainian group Kalush Orchestra won the music competition. Therefore, according to the competition rules, it should be held in Ukraine.

However, due to the full-scale Russian invasion, it is impossible to guarantee the safety of participants, guests, and organizers, so the international broadcaster EBU decided to host the event on the territory of the country whose representative came second last year.
