The Ukrainian director Mstyslav Chernov’s film “2000 Meters to Andriivka” has been longlisted for the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Awards in the “Best Documentary” category.
According to the BAFTA website, 10 films were selected from 61 entries for the longlist in this category. Members of the Academy will later choose five films to advance to the shortlist.
The full list of nominees will be announced on January 27, and the winners will be revealed at the 79th BAFTA Film Awards ceremony on February 22, 2026.
“2000 Meters to Andriivka” explores the consequences of the Russian-Ukrainian war through a personal and harrowing perspective. Chernov focuses on Ukrainian soldiers—their identities, origins, and the extraordinarily difficult decisions they must make in the trenches while defending every inch of their homeland.
The film will also represent Ukraine at the 98th Academy Awards in the “Best International Feature Film” category.
