Ukrainian swimmer Mykhailo Romanchuk secured his second medal at the 2023 European Short Course Swimming Championships held in Romania.
On the final day of the competition, Romanchuk finished with the third-best time in the 800 meters freestyle with a time of 7:31.20. Only two participants completed the distance faster than the Ukrainian: Daniel Wiffen from Ireland (7:20.46) and Frenchman David Aubry (7:30.32). The event was won by Daniel Wiffen from Ireland, who set a world record, and the second place went to Frenchman David Aubry.
Earlier, Romanchuk had won a bronze medal in the 1500 meters freestyle. It's worth noting that Mykhailo Romanchuk is a silver and bronze medalist from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and a multiple-time medalist at world and European championships.
