Jens Stoltenberg said that NATO would continue to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine both in the Kherson region and in the future.

Jens Stoltenberg, Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), believes that in the situation with the announcement by the invaders of the abandonment of the right bank of the Kherson region, we must first wait and see what really happens in Kherson and on the right bank of the region.

Stoltenberg said this at a briefing after meeting British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Downing Street in London.

“We saw the announcement, but of course, we will wait and see what is actually happening on the ground. But we do know that Russia was initially pushed out from the north - near Kyiv, then in the east - around Kharkiv, and after that, indeed, we really see how the Ukrainians can slowly push back the Russian forces also in the south around Kherson," Stoltenberg said.

At the same time, the Secretary General of the Alliance said that "it is encouraging to see how the courageous Ukrainian forces can liberate more Ukrainian territory."

"The victories and conquests won by the Ukrainian Armed Forces belong to the courageous, brave Ukrainian soldiers. But, of course, the support they receive from the United Kingdom, NATO allies, and partners is also important," Stoltenberg said.

He assured that NATO would continue to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kherson region and further in the future.
