A tank farm on the grounds of the Grushovaya industrial site in Novorossiysk was attacked and is on fire. The facility is part of the Sheskharis transshipment complex, according to ASTRA's OSINT analysis.

Residents of Novorossiysk in Russia's Krasnodar Krai reported a large number of attacks during the night of June 8. According to ASTRA, more than 50 explosions had been counted overnight. A fire broke out in the city.

ASTRA analyzed footage recorded by eyewitnesses and determined that the Grushovaya industrial site (also known as Grushovaya Balka) was hit and is burning. The footage was filmed from the vineyard area at the southern end of the bay, approximately 11 km (6.8 miles) from the site of the fire.

The Grushovaya industrial site is the largest tank farm of JSC Chernomortransneft's Sheskharis transshipment complex, located in the Grushovaya Balka area beyond the Markotkh Ridge, about 12 km (7.5 miles) from Novorossiysk. According to publicly available data, the site covers approximately 212–213 hectares (524–526 acres). Dozens of tanks for storing crude oil and petroleum products are located there, with a total capacity exceeding 1.2 million cubic meters.

Grushovaya is connected to the Sheskharis marine terminal through a system of pipelines and tunnels, through which oil is transported to berths for loading onto tankers.

The Sheskharis transshipment complex is the final destination of the trunk oil pipelines operated by Transneft PJSC in Krasnodar Krai. The facility handles the reception, storage, and export loading of crude oil and petroleum products onto tankers.

The Sheskharis transshipment complex had already been attacked in early March, early April, and again on May 22. The Grushovaya oil depot was also targeted in the May 22 attack.
