Andrii Osipov, Head of the Ukrainian State Film Agency, arrived in Rome for the Days of Ukrainian and Polish Cinema in Rome, a cultural initiative aimed at introducing international audiences to Ukrainian and Polish cinema, their history, cultural heritage and contemporary creative achievements.

A particularly significant moment during Osipov's visit to the Vatican was the opportunity to meet the Holy Father in person during a baciamano audience.

During the meeting, Osipov presented the Pope with a bust of the distinguished Ukrainian film director Oleksandr Dovzhenko, created by employees of the Odesa Film Studio.

The Head of the Ukrainian State Film Agency spoke about Dovzhenko's life and work, his outstanding contribution to the development of Ukrainian cinema and the important place his artistic legacy holds in the history of world cinema.

During the brief meeting, Osipov also received the Holy Father's blessing.

The encounter provided a special opportunity to showcase Ukraine's cinematic heritage and highlight the importance of culture as a space for dialogue, mutual understanding and the preservation of spiritual and humanistic values.

Ukraine presents itself to the world through its people, their achievements, cultural heritage and contemporary art. Cinema remains an important language of international dialogue, bringing together countries, cultures and generations.
