Ukraine has more than 50 state and private manufacturers of ammunition for various types of drones. This was announced by the Minister of Strategic Industries, Oleksandr Kamishin.
According to him, deregulation in this segment has led to the development of many new domestic manufacturers.
"Regarding ammunition for drones, we have the capabilities for their production. Deregulation in this segment has led to the development of many new manufacturers. Currently, we have over 50 manufacturers of drone ammunition, both state-owned and private," Kamishin wrote on Telegram.
The minister noted that this includes the production of ammunition weighing from 300 grams to 10 kilograms, of various types.
He noted that the Ministry of Defense team is currently actively testing new ammunition for drones and is "rapidly deploying them into service."
Systematic procurement of the corresponding ammunition has already begun.
"Ammunition for drones should be produced in factory conditions, not in trenches. And the factories are ready for this," summarized Kamishin.
Earlier, during a closed meeting with representatives of G7 countries in Kyiv, Defense Minister Rustem Umеrov also mentioned that Ukraine has initiated the production of ammunition for UAVs.
"We prioritize the direction of drones; we have established production but do not publicize it. We have a production plan, a financing plan," said the minister.
According to him, the Ministry of Defense, together with the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, has already defined the needs for drones for the military for the year 2024.
