The agreement on the Grain Initiative has been extended for another 120 days. This was announced by Oleksandr Kubrakov, Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine and Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development.

“I am grateful to United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres and Turkish President Recep ErdoÄŸan, as well as to all partner countries for their joint efforts to extend the document for another 4 months.

This means that Ukraine continues to export its agricultural products through three deep sea ports. In particular, from August 1 to the present day, we have shipped 25 million tonnes to meet the needs of the world,” said Oleksandr Kubrakov. “At the same time, the main challenge is to speed up inspections in Turkey. This will allow the world to receive even more Ukrainian agricultural products. We are also continuing to work on involving Mykolaiv region ports in the Grain Initiative and expanding the range of cargoes. Ukraine has been and remains firmly integrated into the global economy and markets. The opportunity to export more will help mitigate inflationary risks and, as a result, social tensions in many countries.”
