Currently, the war is transitioning into a phase where unmanned systems are fighting. However, without a soldier who will advance to the Russia's position and destroy them, there will be no real actions.
This was announced by the Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Oleksandr Pavlyuk, in an interview with Radio Liberty, in response to a question about when it will become easier on the front line.
"Unfortunately, I would like to receive such an answer myself. It doesn't depend on us. The war is transitioning to another phase - where unmanned systems are fighting. But without a human, there will be no success, no real actions. Without a soldier who will not fulfill his task, who will not advance to the enemy's position, who will not destroy those who are there. While unmanned systems can greatly assist in this, the percentage of enemy destruction is very different from what it was at the beginning of the war and now. In the last months, the percentage of destruction by unmanned means is generally about 70% of targets. But, again, there are still ammunition - the biggest problem, apart from air defense means. And equipment, especially artillery. Therefore, there are a lot of requests, considering that we will create new units, we must constantly replenish those units that are in combat. So there are many requests. Unfortunately, we cannot provide everything. These are the capabilities not only of our country but also of our partners," Pavlyuk emphasized.
Responding to the question of whether there are supplies in the Ministry of Defense to provide mobilized servicemen with everything necessary, Pavlyuk assured that no defender will go to the front unprepared and unequipped.
"The Ministry of Defense is working on this issue. I believe no mobilized individual will go into the combat zone unequipped, unprepared, or unprovided for. We take this matter very seriously, especially regarding the training of personnel. A person going to war must gain experience, practice to be ready for action. As for equipment and weapons, there is absolutely no issue. So, I believe we will address this matter. The second issue concerns heavy caliber equipment and ammunition. These are the issues we are studying and working on," the commander noted.
