Ukrainian Olga Kharlan won the gold medal at the Women's Sabre World Cup stage in Lima, Peru.
According to the press service of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, her sixth position in the world ranking allowed the Olympic champion to start directly from the main draw.
Kharlan secured her medal by defeating the current world champion from Hungary, Liza Pustai, in the quarterfinals with a score of 15:11.
However, Olga didn't stop there and triumphed over American fencer Elizabeth Tartakovsky in the semifinals with a score of 15:12.
In the decisive bout, facing Hungary's Sugar Kati Batay, Kharlan repeated last year's World Cup final in Athens, Greece. But unlike March 2023, this time the match ended with a convincing victory for the representative of Ukraine, with a score of 15:6.
This gold became her 14th top-tier medal and the 31st medal overall in competitions of this level.
