Ukrainian athlete Olha Kharlan won the bronze medal at the World Cup stage in sabre fencing.
This was reported by the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, Vadym Hutsait.
Hutsait announced that the stage in Greece is also a scoring start for the Olympic ranking. It is the third stage of the World Cup in sabre fencing this season.
At the start of the tournament, Kharlan achieved three consecutive victories, defeating Kelly Luzigne of France, followed by Polina Kaspiarovich of Azerbaijan, and Magda Skarbonkevich of the USA.
"Our athlete won the medal after defeating the two-time world champion Misaki Emura of Japan (15:8) in the quarterfinals," the president of the NOC said.
Recall that in early December, Kharlan was able to step onto the second step of the podium at the Grand Prix in Orleans.
Before that, the Ukrainian also won the silver medal at the first stage of the World Cup in fencing.
