On the third day of the XXXIII Olympic Games in Paris, Ukrainian national team members competed in 11 sports, with fencer Olga Kharlan securing the first medal for Ukraine at the Olympics, as reported by the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine on Facebook.

Fencing (Sabre, Individual): Olga Kharlan - Bronze medalist at the 2024 Olympic Games. In the 1/32 finals, Olena Kravatska defeated Algerian Saoussen Boudiaf (15:8) and advanced to the 1/16 finals, where she narrowly lost to Japanese Misaki Emura (14:15). Alina Komashchuk began and ended her journey in the 1/16 finals with an 8:15 defeat by South Korean Hayoung Jung.

 

 

Shooting (10m Air Pistol): Olena Kostevych and Viktor Bankin finished the qualification round in 13th place, missing the finals.

Judo (Up to 57 kg weight category): In the 1/16 finals, Daria Bilodid quickly defeated Neuru Tebau from Kiribati with an ippon throw in just 5 seconds. However, in a tough match against Japanese Haruka Funakubo, Bilodid received three shidos and exited the Olympics at the 1/8 finals stage.

Rowing (Lightweight Men's Double Sculls): Ihor Khmara and Stanislav Kovalyov qualified for the semifinals by finishing second in the repechage.

Diving (10m Synchronised Platform): Kyrylo Boliukh and Oleksii Sereda finished fifth in the men's 10m synchronized platform event.

Swimming: Nika Sharafutdinova ranked 22nd in the 100m backstroke qualification and did not advance to the semifinals. Mykhailo Romanchuk finished 17th in the 800m freestyle qualification, failing to move on to the next stage.

Table Tennis (Singles): In the 1/32 finals, Yaroslav Zhmudenko lost to the world's fourth-ranked player, China's Fan Zhendong.

Tennis: Marta Kostyuk advanced to the third round of the Olympics by defeating host player Clara Burel (7:6, 6:2). Dayana Yastremska lost to Colombia's Camila Osorio (6:7, 4:6) and ended her singles run at the Games. Elina Svitolina overcame the world's sixth-ranked player, American Jessica Pegula, in three sets (4:6, 6:1, 6:3). In the first-round doubles match, the Kichenok sisters, Lyudmyla and Nadiia, won against China's Wang Xinyu and Zheng Saisai (6:1, 6:4). Marta Kostyuk and Dayana Yastremska defeated the Polish pair of Magda Linette and Alicja Rosolska (6:4, 6:1).

Cycling (Mountain Bike): Oleksandr Hudyma finished 32nd in the cross-country discipline.

Boxing (Over 92 kg weight category): Dmytro Lovchynsky ended his Olympic campaign, losing by knockout to Australia's Teremoana in the first round.

Artistic Gymnastics (Team All-Around): The Ukrainian men's artistic gymnastics team finished fifth in the team all-around competition.

On July 30, Ukrainian athletes will compete in nine sports.
