OSINT researcher Clément Molin notes that Russian forces have been advancing towards Dobropillia for four months.
During this period, they have moved closer to the city, capturing smaller settlements along the way, and are now approaching it from the south and east.
The battle for the city itself is likely to begin in the coming weeks or months and could last for a considerable time.
Thanks to the fortifications of the "New Donbas Line", Russian advances towards the city from the east and north have so far been halted.
Molin emphasises that Russia has concentrated substantial manpower in this sector, deploying three armies that continue to receive reinforcements.
At the same time, Russia's decision to prioritise reinforcements for this section of the front has left other directions short of personnel.
