Ukrainian military command is monitoring the Russian army's preparations to intensify fighting on several fronts.
This was shared by Deputy Head of the President's Office, Pavlo Palisa, as reported by Suspilne.
According to him, this year, the Russian army plans to increase its group by 150,000 personnel, which is equivalent to about 15 motorized rifle divisions.
"Their formation is ongoing. There are no issues with recruiting personnel for the Russians at the moment. However, it is important to understand that all these units cannot be deployed to battle at once. Therefore, it is expected that they will try to exert maximum pressure on the directions where it is possible," Palisa said.
He noted that Russia is increasing pressure on the front lines amid discussions on a ceasefire. The Russians are not particularly interested in this, except for issues related to the maritime direction.
As for the land territories, the Russians continue to push forward gradually, trying to break through certain sections of the front. This refers to partial tactical successes they achieve at the cost of heavy losses.
"But if they can afford it, they will continue to delay. On some sections of the front, the enemy has certain successes, but we are counterattacking and also achieving results," the Deputy Head of the President's Office added.
On March 26, Ukrainian President Zelensky said in an interview with Figaro that the Kremlin leader "is trying to buy time and is preparing for a spring offensive." According to the president, the Russian army is preparing a new offensive, including in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions.
