Amid the ongoing Ukrainian Armed Forces operation in the Kursk region, the redeployment of certain Russian military formations to this area has been observed.

This was stated by Pentagon spokesperson Major General Pat Ryder, at his briefing in Washington.

The American official described the number of these Russian forces being sent to the Kursk region as small.

According to him, the U.S. Department of Defense has detected signs that Russia is "moving a small number of forces into the Kursk region in response."

He also added that the American side "continues to see some advances" by the Ukrainian army in this region.

However, the Pentagon representative did not specify which Russian forces are being moved to this direction or whether they are being transferred to the Kursk region from the front in Ukraine or from other regions within the aggressor country.
