Thanks to military support from Ukraine, the U.S. has revitalized its defense-industrial complex, according to the U.S. Department of Defense.

The U.S. assistance to Ukraine has led to an unprecedented mobilization of the defense-industrial complex, with industrial enterprises across the country increasing production volumes and providing the equipment and capabilities necessary for fulfilling U.S. commitments.

Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, the U.S. has provided military assistance to Ukraine totaling around $44 billion. This assistance includes the transfer of existing military equipment from U.S. armed forces reserves and the purchase of new equipment from the industry. If any equipment is withdrawn from existing U.S. reserves, it must be replaced to maintain the readiness of U.S. military units.

The U.S. Department of Defense has committed to allocating nearly $17 billion to purchase new equipment to replace what was sent to Ukraine. U.S. defense contractors are not only producing new equipment to replace what was sent to Ukraine but also expanding their production capacities to meet the growing demand for military technology. The U.S. Department of Defense has allocated over $10 billion for these purposes.
