The Russians relentlessly attack the Kherson region to divert attention from their defeats in the east.

This opinion was expressed by military expert Petro Chernyk during a briefing at the Military Media Center.

"First, there is a diversion of attention from the eastern bridgehead, where the enemy suffers a catastrophic defeat and has nothing to offer his population regarding quality results. As a result, attention must be shifted somewhere. Secondly, the shameful escape from the right bank of the Dnieper also has its own psychological effects," the military expert explained.

He added that the aggressor would continue to launch artillery strikes, but the general situation is under the control of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

"Unfortunately, in terms of the task of artillery strikes, the enemy still has a certain advantage and will carry them out. But the overall strategic situation is under the full control of our Defense Forces. And sooner or later, a successful counteroffensive operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will also take place in this direction," noted Petro Chernyk.

According to the expert, we are ahead of the enemy regarding artillery support.

"The more high-quality Western artillery that strikes at a distance of more than 30 km, the better. And, in my opinion, in this part we are still significantly ahead of the enemy. Because they have nothing similar to the American counter-battery systems an/tpq-36, an/tpq-48 and an/tpq-50," noted the military analyst.
