Poland has begun work on expanding the Sławków rail terminal in the Silesian Voivodeship (south of the country) with a view to Ukraine’s future reconstruction.
Speaking at the European Forum for New Ideas (EFNI) in Warsaw, Prime Minister Donald Tusk said:
“We’ve launched intensive work on the Sławków terminal. This location already has and can have huge significance. It’s where the broad-gauge railway from the east ends, and many companies, not only from Western Europe, have had their eyes on it.”

According to Tusk, this infrastructure is “a very tempting asset,” which is why the Polish government has decided that “supervision over development and investment at this site will be 100% in the hands of Poles, Polish companies, and the Polish state.”
“We’ll profit from it. This way, Poland and the world will support Ukraine’s reconstruction, since Sławków and this terminal will be a key hub in terms of logistics and transport,” the Polish PM concluded.
