Poland has announced its intention to strengthen truck inspections at the Polish-Ukrainian border in response to demands from representatives of the transportation industry. This was stated in a statement by the Polish Ministry of Infrastructure.

According to the ministry, this decision was reached during the latest meeting with representatives of the transportation industry. The ministry added that increased checks were one of the demands made by Polish carriers.

"Today, we are showing that we keep our word: the Road Transport Inspection, the State Tax Administration, the Border Guard, and the police have sent additional forces to this region," said the Minister of Infrastructure of Poland, Alvin Gajdor.

He also noted that the government would take measures in European institutions aimed at eliminating unfair competition in the freight transport market.

The minister added that the consequences of canceling the requirement for Ukrainian drivers to have permits for entry into the EU should be discussed at the EU Transport Council summit scheduled for Monday, December 4th.
