Starting from the evening of November 17 and lasting until the early morning of November 18, Russian forces launched kamikaze drones in waves over Ukrainian territory, declaring alerts several times. While most targets were successfully intercepted, there were casualties, and some individuals were injured in the attacks.
Despite successfully intercepting most of the Russian kamikaze drones, in the Odessa region, an Russian UAV struck an energy facility, causing a fire. One civilian worker was injured in the incident.
"Unfortunately, in the Odessa region, there was a strike on an energy infrastructure object. One civilian employee was injured, and he was hospitalized," wrote the head of the regional military administration, Oleg Kiper.
According to his information, the administrative building was damaged. A fire broke out but was promptly extinguished by emergency services.
Possibly, kamikaze drones attempted to "penetrate" the airspace of the capital. In the Kyiv region, air defense systems were operational, and the air raid alarm was sounded twice during the night. Despite the enemy's attempts to attack the capital, all targets were intercepted on approach, in the region.
"Tonight, the Russian enemy attacked our region with UAVs. The air raid alarm was sounded twice. Air defense systems were operational in the region. Thanks to our defenders! All enemy targets have been intercepted," according to the report from the Kyiv Regional Military Administration.
According to the administration, there were no casualties, and infrastructure and residential buildings were undamaged.
The targets were successfully intercepted in the Zaporizhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions. In the Zaporizhia region, air defense systems managed to "land" 4 Russian drones out of 8 launched over Zaporizhia. A fire started as a result.
"In the evening of November 17, during the period from 20:10 to 21:42, the enemy launched 8 drones at the regional center, 4 of which were successfully destroyed. The attack resulted in a fire at infrastructure facilities. No information about casualties has been received," said Yuri Malashko, the head of the Regional Military Administration.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, according to the head of the Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak, air defense systems destroyed an UAV over the Pavlohrad district in the evening.
The Russian forces also attacked Chernihiv region with drones. According to Vyacheslav Chaus, the head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, the Russia launched an aerial strike on the region tonight. Although the drone attacks were repelled by air defense systems, infrastructure buildings were damaged.
"As a result of ground explosions, infrastructure buildings were damaged, no information about casualties has been recorded. Data on the consequences of this terrorist attack are being clarified," he stated.
In Mykolaiv region, 6 drones were shot down.
"The night in Mykolaiv passed calmly. In the region, air defense forces and means destroyed 6 UAVs of the Shahed-136/131 type. Thanks to our defenders," the statement from the Mykolaiv City Council said.
