Russian forces have attacked a fuel depot belonging to Austrian energy company Amic Energy in Ukraine.

The company announced the attack in a statement on Facebook.

"Russian forces have once again attacked an Amic Energy fuel depot that had already sustained serious damage during the first weeks of the full-scale invasion," the company said.

Amic Energy recalled that Russian forces had entered the facility during the early stages of the invasion. To prevent Russian troops from using the fuel reserves, the company informed Ukrainian authorities about the available stocks.

During the fighting, four storage tanks were destroyed by fire and technological equipment was damaged. The facility has now suffered another direct Russian attack.

No casualties were reported.

According to Gintaras Macijauskas, CEO of Amic Energy in Ukraine, three of the company's fuel depots, a data centre and 14 petrol station complexes have been damaged since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion. The company has also lost petrol stations in territories occupied by Russian forces.

Despite the attacks, Amic Energy's network of petrol stations in Ukraine continues to operate as usual. The company is strengthening security measures and introducing additional protection for employees, including the installation of mobile shelters near petrol stations.

Amic Energy is also documenting the damage and pursuing compensation. In 2023, the company filed a claim with the European Court of Human Rights.

The preliminary estimate of the damages claimed exceeds UAH 300 million, equivalent to approximately €8.5 million.
