On the night of July 27, Russia struck civilian merchant vessels in the ports of the Mykolaiv region that had remained there since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

"On the night of July 27, Russia struck civilian merchant vessels in the ports of the Mykolaiv region. The vessels targeted by the enemy had remained blocked in Ukrainian ports since the beginning of the full-scale invasion in 2022 and have not been engaged in commercial voyages," the statement said.
According to the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority, one person was killed and several others were injured in the attack.
The authority stressed that attacks on vessels that have been unable to leave the blocked ports for years once again demonstrate the systematic nature of Russian terror against the maritime sector and pose a direct threat to the lives of civilian seafarers.
Ukraine continues to document these crimes and calls on the international maritime community to respond decisively to Russia's attacks on the civilian merchant fleet.
