The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that overnight, 61 drones were allegedly intercepted and destroyed over Russian territory and occupied Crimea.
This information was posted on the Telegram channel Astra.
“From 11:00 p.m. on June 7 to 7:30 a.m. on June 8 (local time), air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 61 Ukrainian aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles over the Bryansk, Belgorod, Kaluga, Tula, Oryol, Kursk regions, the Moscow region, and over Crimea,” the statement reads.
Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin claimed that eight drones flying towards Moscow were also destroyed.
Also, the governor of Russia’s Tula region confirmed a drone attack on the chemical plant “Azot.”
The plant was also attacked at the end of May. At that time, Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Disinformation Counteraction Center at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, stated that some of the chemical substances produced at “Azot” could be used for military purposes.
