The Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) has confirmed that Russia is using chemical weapons against the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to the General Staff, during May alone, the Russian forces used dangerous chemical compounds on the battlefield 888 times.
This was reported by the Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security on Facebook, commenting on the latest OPCW report.
According to the report, Russia systematically uses chemical weapons against Ukraine’s defenders.
“The compounds involved are irritants with tear-inducing effects, which are banned as a method of warfare. Such chemical compounds were found in grenades used by the Russian army against the Defense Forces of Ukraine,” the center noted.
This is the third OPCW report confirming that Russia systematically and deliberately violates the Chemical Weapons Convention.
“According to the General Staff, during May 2025 alone, the aggressor used dangerous chemical compounds on the battlefield 888 times. By systematically and deliberately committing such crimes, Russia seeks to undermine the system of international law,” emphasized the Center for Strategic Communications.
