Tonight, on April 4, during the Russian attack with Shahed drones, strikes on private and multi-storey residential buildings in Kharkiv were recorded.
This was reported by the channel of the head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, Oleh Synegubov, and the channel of the mayor of Kharkiv, Ihor Terekhov.
The movement of Shahed drones in the territory of the Kharkiv region was reported at 00:24. The Air Force reported a group of Shahed drones from the northeast.
The first drone hit a three-story building in the Novobavarsky district. When emergency services workers arrived to clear the rubble at the three-story residential building, the occupiers fired on the area again. As a result, three rescuers - who were firefighters - were killed. In addition, a police officer was seriously injured. In total, there were four drone strikes on civilian infrastructure objects in this district. Residential buildings, shops, trade pavilions, pharmacies, cars, and a hospital were damaged.
Another strike hit a 14-story building. Apartments from the 8th to the 12th floor were damaged. A 68-year-old woman was killed.
Later, at 02:49, the Russian forces struck the Saltivsky district, with no casualties reported.
Overall, as a result of the attack, three high-rise buildings, three units of firefighting equipment, two ambulances, a hospital, and a police administration building were damaged in the city.
In total, as a result of the shelling of two residential buildings, four people were killed (including three emergency services workers), and 12 others were injured. Among the injured is an emergency medical nurse who arrived at the scene with a team to provide assistance, as well as a rescuer.
It is also known that among the injured is a 67-year-old man who was trapped under the rubble in a three-story residential building. At the same time when rescuers were hit again by drones, an operation was underway to rescue this man, who was trapped under the ceiling slabs on the third floor.
About 10 emergency responders were involved in the operation, which lasted about three hours. They used manual hydraulic tools and jacks to extricate the individual and handed him over to medical personnel.
