Russian forces have significantly increased shelling of Zaporizhzhia. In order to terrorize the civilian population, Russian forces redeployed to this front direction a brigade that had previously carried out attacks in the Kherson region.
Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, said this during the national telethon.
"Over the past two weeks, Zaporizhzhia has been living under intensified attacks. Russian forces have changed their tactics and increased the use of drones. The reason is clear to us — one of the units that previously terrorized the Kherson region has been transferred to the Zaporizhzhia direction and is now terrorizing Zaporizhzhia. Russian forces are using artificial intelligence-powered drones, FPV drones, and guided aerial bombs. We need countermeasures," he said.
According to him, the Defense Forces currently understand how to counter FPV drones, but dealing with AI-powered Molniya drones is more difficult.
"We are looking for ways to counter them. Yesterday, only one out of nine such drones managed to enter the city," Fedorov added.

In addition, Russian forces have begun attacking the city with guided aerial bombs more frequently. In particular, explosions were heard in the city at 5 a.m. today. The bombs struck a food industry enterprise and a garage cooperative. Three people were injured.
One of the Russian forces’ priority targets is gas stations. In Zaporizhzhia and the surrounding region, Russian forces have recently attacked gas stations 55 times. At present, there is no panic buying or increased demand at fuel stations.
