Russian hackers targeted German government websites. In particular, a Russian hacker group called NoName057(16) attacked the website of Deutsche Bahn, the German railway company, according to a confidential report from the German government. This information was reported by Spiegel.

Messages about the attack on German websites appeared in the NoName057(16) Telegram channel on November 1 in response to news about Germany delivering 14 Leopard 2A4 tanks to Ukraine in 2024.

As a result, the corporate website of Deutsche Bahn, according to the publication, became temporarily unavailable.

The report from German law enforcement states that the hackers also targeted resources belonging to the German Ministry of Defense and other agencies.

Unlike some other hacker groups, NoName057(16), the publication claims, does not use its own botnet. Instead, "hackers provide tools for DDoS attacks, urging sympathizers to download and use them against the specified targets for financial rewards.

It is noted that the cyberattack paralyzed the work of local authorities in many municipalities in western Germany.
