More than 10 energy infrastructure facilities were damaged in Ukraine during an overnight Russian attack, leaving at least 550,000 households without electricity.

President Volodymyr Zelensky reported the damage.

"Overnight and this morning, Russia attacked energy facilities in the Vinnytsia, Volyn, Kirovohrad, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Kharkiv, Ternopil, Odesa and Rivne regions. In this one night alone, more than 10 energy infrastructure facilities were damaged, and at least 550,000 households were left without electricity. Repair crews are working at the affected sites," the President said.

He noted that the overnight Russian ballistic missile attack came in several waves and that "once again, there was no advance warning from our partners".

"Energy facilities and infrastructure were once again the targets, but a medical clinic, a school, a metro station and ordinary residential buildings were also damaged. In total, the Russians used 16 ballistic missiles in a deliberate attack against Kyiv and the Kyiv region. Russia also launched more than 200 drones of various types, including jet-powered Shaheds, targeting areas from the Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions to Volyn, Rivne and Odesa. Unfortunately, there have been fatalities," Zelensky stated.

The President expressed his condolences to the families and loved ones of those killed. He added that assistance was being provided to the injured.

Zelensky emphasised: "Ukraine never wanted this war, and we have responded positively to literally EVERY attempt by our partners to bring this war to a dignified end. We have given a positive response to EVERY ceasefire proposal."

Instead, according to the President, Russia's responses have been ballistic missiles, Shahed drones and killings.

"Putin does not want to end this war, or even take any steps towards de-escalation. EVERY one of our partners has experienced this personally when confronted with Russia's refusals. And it is extremely important to call things by their proper names. To call the aggressor an aggressor and help Ukraine defend lives. When deliveries of missiles for Ukrainian air defence are blocked while Russia is granted sanctions relief or postponements, this is, unfortunately, a denial of reality on the part of our partners. The reality is that the war continues, and it continues solely because of Russian strikes and Russia's desire to prolong it," Zelensky stressed.
