The Security Service successfully protects Ukraine's information and digital security in war conditions. Since the beginning of the year, more than 4.5 thousand cyber attacks and cyber incidents have been neutralized.
The head of the cyber security department of the SSU, Ilya Vityuk, said this on the air of the My-Ukraine TV channel.
"We have come to 2022 with 8 years of experience in hybrid warfare behind us. After all, the war in cyberspace has been going on before. At the time of the invasion, we were already prepared for worst-case scenarios. And the massive cyber attacks that we repelled in January and February became additional "training" before the invasion," Ilya Vityuk noted.
He emphasized that with the beginning of full-scale aggression, the work became much more. If in 2020, almost 800 cyber attacks were recorded, in 2021 - 1,400, then already this year - their number has increased by more than 3 times.
"Today, the aggressor country carries out an average of more than 10 cyber attacks daily. Ukrainian society, fortunately, does not even know about the majority," noted Ilya Vityuk.
He said that energy, logistics, military facilities, as well as authorities' databases and information resources, are in the zone of special attention of the enemy.
"We monitor risks and threats in real-time 24/7. We know most of the hackers from the Russian special services who work for us by name. Work is underway to document them. After Ukraine's victory, a separate block of meetings of the international military tribunal will await them," Ilya Vityuk summarized.
