Slovakia will repair and modernize the military equipment of the Ukrainian army, which was damaged in battles with the occupiers of the Russian Federation. It will soon be taken over by the Konstrukta Defense plant located in Moldava nad Bodvou (Kosice region).

Defense Minister Jaroslav Naď stated this, reports TASR.

Such assistance is part of a commercial contract concluded, taking into account the needs of Ukraine. The Slovak minister did not specify which equipment was in question.

We’ve prepared things so far to repair and modernise several dozen vehicles for Ukraine but I won’t provide more details

Jaroslav Naď

Konstrukta Defense Director Oleksandr Gursky told reporters that the plant specializes mainly in producing, repairing and maintaining artillery and missile systems. The Zuzana 2 self-propelled howitzer is the company's most famous product.

We’ll probably officially announce in the near future that we’ll produce it directly in this plant

Jaroslav Naď

On June 2, Ukraine and Slovakia signed a contract to supply eight 155-mm Zuzana 2 howitzers. In late May, Defense Minister Jaroslav Naď confirmed he would hand over eight Bratislava self-propelled artillery units to Kyiv.
