In the Army+ application, a survey of military personnel from the Armed Forces of Ukraine regarding their satisfaction with dry rations, specifically the daily field food sets No. 15 (regular and enhanced with heating), has been completed.

“Over the course of two weeks, 9,128 respondents, all active military personnel, participated in the survey. The State Logistics Operator aims to make the rations more diverse and tailored to the needs of the military. Army+ allowed for quick collection of feedback from military personnel and analysis for improving food quality,” noted Deputy Minister of Defense for Digitalization Kateryna Chernohorenko.

The survey focused on the quality of food sets, convenience and quality of packaging, as well as consideration of religious, ethical, and medical needs. The results showed that more than half of military personnel rated the quality of the dry rations highly: 51% rated them four or five on a five-point scale.

For his part, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Dmytro Klymenkov emphasized:

“The survey results indicated that approximately 25% of respondents require inclusive nutrition. This highlights our responsibility to create individual solutions that take into account the religious, ethical, and personal needs of each military member. We are actively working on this and will soon be able to demonstrate results.”

The State Logistics Operator and the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine will consider the results of this survey in their efforts to update and expand the range of food sets. Technical specifications for halal rations have already been approved, and updates for plant-based and kosher dry rations are being developed. These sets will meet religious, medical, and ethical needs.

Particular attention has been paid to the wishes of military personnel regarding the dishes they would like to see in the sets. There is a high demand for traditional Ukrainian dishes such as porridge, borscht, and meat dishes. Respondents also noted the need for variety, including soups, vegetable dishes, and desserts.

Furthermore, the results of the survey will help improve the quality of existing sets. Suggestions and remarks from military personnel will be taken into account when updating technical specifications and planning purchases for 2025.
