Authorities will restrict entry to the city of Kursk, where the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant is located, according to Acting Governor of the region Alexey Smirnov.

"Despite the maximum security measures at the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue attempts to infiltrate the city. In response, and to ensure additional security measures, the operational headquarters of the Counter-Terrorism Operation (CTO) has decided to restrict access to Kursk in the near future," Smirnov announced on his Telegram channel.

Smirnov explained that only residents registered in Kursk will be allowed to enter the city freely. Those who work in the city but are not registered will need to obtain a pass from the Kursk administration. Passes for nuclear power plant employees will be issued by the company's management.

Checkpoints will be manned by city and district administration staff from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and permits for entry can be obtained there.

"Transit vehicles that previously traveled through Kursk must use alternative routes," Smirnov added.
