The Czech indie studio Amanita Design, best known for games like Machinarium and Samorost, has announced that it will donate profits from its projects and DLC to the People in Need fund, which supports Ukrainians.
"From October 17 to 24, we are donating 100% of the profits from all our games and DLC to support the humanitarian efforts of People in Need in Ukraine, as Russian troops continue to kill innocent people and destroy infrastructure," the Czech developers stated on their social media.
The studio noted that People in Need directs these funds towards providing essential assistance, including food, warm clothing, coal, house repairs, and psychological support for those affected by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Amanita Design is an independent video game development studio located in Brno, Czech Republic. It was founded in 2003 by Jakub Dvořák after he graduated from the Academy of Art in Prague with a free online flash game called Samorost, created as his thesis project.
Currently, Amanita Design is working on a new project called Phonopolis. This narrative puzzle game unfolds in a 3D world made of hand-painted cardboard. The release date is not yet available, but it is known that the game will include Ukrainian localization.
