The Defense Procurement Agency of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, following the auctions on Prozorro, has entered into contracts for the supply of 3000 UAVs DJI Mavic 3E and 1000 DJI Mavic 3T with additional equipment.
The total amount of the contracts concluded is UAH 575.2 million.
"In modern warfare, speed and accuracy are key factors of success, so drones become indispensable assistants to our military. UAVs transform the army into a flexible, mobile, and efficient force ready for challenges at any moment. Therefore, the goal of the Ministry of Defense is to provide the Armed Forces with as many drones as possible. Combining innovative technologies with the high professionalism of the military will ensure the effective defense of our country," said Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Dmytro Klimenkov.
As a result of the agreements, the average prices for one UAV complex were:
• 126.9 thousand hryvnias for DJI Mavic 3E with three additional batteries and a charger;
• 194.2 thousand hryvnias for DJI Mavic 3T with three additional batteries and a charger.
"The best prices are obtained when there is real competition among suppliers. That is why, when the Agency had the opportunity to purchase the necessary Mavics for the front, we used the new framework agreement procedure in Prozorro. And this approach has proved itself 100 percent. In some auctions, 6-7 participants competed, lowering the price during the auction. In the end, we were able to achieve record-low prices for the state, confirming the findings of investigative journalists," noted Marina Bezrukova, the director of "The Defense Procurement Agency" of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The first batches of purchased UAV complexes have already been delivered to military units. Additionally, procurement by The Defense Procurement Agency of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine for the purchase of another 6000 drones is currently ongoing on the Prozorro system: 4500 Mavic 3E complexes and 1500 Mavic 3T complexes.
