The first Sandown-class minesweeper acquired by Ukraine in the UK will arrive in Odessa before the end of this year.
This was announced by the Commander of the Naval Forces of Ukraine, Rear Admiral Oleksiy Neizhpapa.
In total, we recall that the British are giving us two minesweepers. Each of them, taking into account repairs and modernisation, cost the state $50 million.
A memorandum on the implementation of maritime partnership projects between a consortium of industry from the United Kingdom and the Ukrainian Navy was signed on June 21 in Odessa, on board the British destroyer HMS Defender. After repair and modernisation, HMS Blyth and HMS Ramsey will go to the Black Sea.
